This page showcases my Transmedia group project. It will showcase all the logos and robot designs I created for my group and my thought processes behind them.
The image you see here is a poster design containing the new brand, which includes one of the robot mascot designs I created. This Poster will be the face of the Transmedia project, especially the brand within the poster. This poster was created with many key elements that not only I had come up with, but we had decided upon as a group, such as the colour and pastel them with math numbers was decided together as a group I agreed on what should be the face of the brand, though, so I chose one of the robots that I had created as I felt like including our new found mascot would help to incorporate all elements of our group work into one piece of art. This poster and brand are best for being the face of our project, as it helps to incorporate all the group's work into one. When doing this brand poster, I looked into the book Graphic Design Solutions to help me better understand designing a good brand for the company and think critically and creatively about my work. (Landa, 2018) I also looked into the book Design Thinking: Research, Innovation, and Implementation. to help develop design ideas for my brand poster. (Sanzo, 2021) I also researched through the internet what makes a successful brand for companies to help build ideas through Canva. (Canva, 2024) Although I researched how to create a successful brand, I also researched how to make a successful poster to put the brand on through Shutterstock (Carroll, 2024)
Synopsis
Why this project was created
This project I'm doing was to help with Branding and Marketing for the Transmedia showing in May 2025. My part in the project was to help create Brands, Posters and our Instagram to help with branding and marketing and showcase my work as a designer. All the work you will see on this web page was done through Photoshop or Illustrator. I tried to better understand my project, which was all about storytelling, so I looked at a book called Chris Crawford on Interactive Storytelling to help me. (Crawford, 2005)
Instagram
This is the Instagram we developed as a team to help advertise our project. We use this Instagram to showcase much of our work as a group the Instagram only has Oliver's work posted on it at the moment, we will try to get other members of the team's work posted on it shortly.
This is a slideshow showcasing the robots that I had designed to potentially be mascots for the Transmedia project. These robots are redesigns of our original robot mascot, which was created by AI, and we needed a robot mascot that was designed by a person. I designed the first 2 of these Robots through Photoshop whilst the other 2 I drew myself. I drew the other two robots on my IPad on an app called Procreate. All these robots were inspired in one way or another; the grey robot was inspired by Bender in the hit TV Show Futurama, and all the other robots were inspired by the internet. The second image is the robot that is the face of this project, as I thought it was the best robot to be the face of the Transmedia project. I did some research into what makes a memorable brand mascot to help with the mascot design. (Addams, 2019)
The programs used by me and the team:
Me:
Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Illustrator
The team:
Figma
Adobe InDesign
Inkscape
The research I had done for my work mostly contained using the internet for help and inspiration in my work, but I had done some other research as well to help give me a greater understanding of how to do something and help make my work stand out for others to work. I used websites such as Digifloat to help give me a greater understanding of the process of creating a mascot. It gives a thorough step-by-step guide to how to effectively develop an efficient mascot for your audience. I did some research into other design ideas, such as infographics, to help with my work, but I never created one. I used a book for that research called The Power of Infographics: Using Pictures to Communicate and Connect with Your Audiences. (Smicklas, 2012) I also read the book Inclusive Design: A Universal Need for Research to help come up with more ideas for designs that can also be considered inclusive for everyone. (Nussbaumer, 2012)
How we managed to work as a team was through communicating with each other through Discord and sharing our ideas. We had our team leader Eva help to give us an understanding of what needed to be done by setting us tasks. Although there were some small issues, for example, where we were struggling with contacting each other, we managed to work that out. My main job as a member of the team was doing the logos and branding for our project, which I managed to do. We all had our tasks and our jobs to help us get through this project effectively.
The first image shows my client giving suggestions as to what needed to be done to help and improve my work and also how to change my logo in a way that helps to showcase that I have done multiple redesigns of my work to give as evidence of me trying new ideas. The first link in the first photo is a link sending me to a website showcasing designs made by Allan Peters(Peters, 2018). The client also sent a secondary link to a book by Phillip Hughes (Hughes, 2015). The first photo is meant to help showcase communication to my client and respond with feedback on the work that she has seen so far. The other photos showcase me communicating with the client about the presentation and how I was struggling in being able to do the presentation. The next two photos are meant to be a representation of my relationship-building with the client. I have also added in the last two images a couple of conversations I had with my other client, Kerry.
Here are some early sketches of the robot mascots that I designed these sketches were what helped give me a greater understanding of what I wanted my robots to look like and how I could improve upon them better to help flesh them out a bit more and make them more appealing. Also, when designing something such as this, you have to make all this digital as our course is all digital of course, so when I had to re-do the robots digitally, I kept these drawings and used them to help give me a greater understanding of what I needed to do to make these robots look even better digitally.
This slideshow is a showcase of various texts sent to the team's group chat, handing over the work they had done for this Transmedia project. All the work shown in this slideshow was intended for the client this showcase also contains many prototypes, such as sketches and drawings and the final pieces that were used later on in our group project. All these texts of our work were posted through the discord group chat, which was our primary way of communicating as the group had decided this would be the most effective way of being able to communicate. These images in the slideshow are primarily logo designs and mascot designs they are shown through this slideshow to help showcase our communication as a team and how we handed over our work. The last two images in the slideshow show me sending some of my group work to another client member. The first two images in the slideshow are prototypes of another group member's, and the rest of the photos are of my work.

I would change my methods and do more in-depth research before deciding what I'm going to create I would also change my methods of creating instead of just using Photoshop due to that being easy for me as I am very accustomed to using Photoshop I would try other different types of programs to help develop my skills further and learn more about programs in general as I feel that will be useful knowledge for the future. What I found out about myself as a team player is that I enjoy being in charge. There was an issue where the group leader had departed for a few days due to an illness, and the group was starting to fall apart, so what I did was I started to take control, which helped the group.
I could have done some more research to help develop my logos further and also learn new skills within the programs that I was using. Doing more research could have also helped my team in general by giving new ideas, such as ideas for new mascots or new logos in general. This is not to say that I had not done enough research to get done what was needed to get done I just feel as if I could have possibly done more research. Although I feel as if I could do some more research, I am not unhappy with the research that I have already done, but I will dedicate myself to doing more research next time to help make my work a little bit better.
The model of planning that I followed was that I was given instructions as to what I needed to do by the group leader, and then I would lay out a time when I needed to get all the work done and what I needed to do to get it done this helped to give me a clear understanding of what I needed to do and as to when it needed to be done by which helped me with getting my work done efficiently and on time.
Yes, I would have changed my role to team leader as I believe that I would be a good team leader and I like to be in control and charge as I think I would be able to get the team to their work more efficiently and help to make the group project do better. I think I would have been good as a team leader and would do a good job of telling people what to do and making sure the group was on top of everything.
